Private Treatment & Reconstruction for Skin Cancer
Skin cancer is increasingly common and whilst this typically affects those of older generations, there are certain conditions that can affect all ages. Within my NHS practice I am heavily involved in the management of skin cancer alongside my dermatology and oncology colleagues and am happy to provide this expertise within my private practice.
Treatment Choices
Common skin tumours include basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and malignant melanoma, with less common variants including atypicalfibroxanthomas, dermatofibrosarcoma protruberans, merkel cell carcinoma and other less common cancers. All of these require a different spectrum of surgical and oncological intervention and a significant part of my role is in helping patients understand the interface between surgical and nonsurgical specialists to maximise their chance of cancer cure.
Sentinel node biopsy is an important part of modern melanoma management and I am proud to offer patients detailed discussions regarding the role and benefits of any available treatments for any of these conditions.
