Shelley, 38, was a mother of three young children and an enthusiastic gym athlete who disliked her abdominal bulge. Having completed her family she found that her abdominal tone was impossible to improve given the effects of pregnancy.
Having undergone cesarean section delivery, an excess tissue overhang in her lower abdomen made it difficult for her to fit the gymwear she wished for and this caused her embarrassment in tight-fitting clothing and with her husband. Shelley underwent abdominoplasty with muscle divarication repair to centralise her six-pack muscles back together, recontouring the whole torso as a consequence.
From the early days of post-operative recovery it was evident that Shelley would have a fantastic result and she is rightly delighted with the outcome. With fine scars hidden in her underwear, Shelley can now wear the gym clothing of her choice and has no restrictions on her choices of jeans or swimwear at other times. Shelley is a great example of how appropriate corrective surgery after the effects of pregnancy can dramatically enhance body self-confidence in a predictable and durable way.
