What stood out was that the benefits extended far beyond appearance.

Many described improvements in physical symptoms such as neck, shoulder and back pain, but also improvements in confidence, comfort, exercise participation and overall wellbeing.

Within the NHS I am fortunate to have a (usually)

Within the NHS I am fortunate to have a (usually) senior trainee allocated to me every six months on a rotational basis.

Typically these plastic surgeons in training are very experienced doctors who are coming towards the end of their rigourous six year national plastic surgery training programme and are often in the throes of sitting their FRCS(Plast) board exams.

Last week a group of my former registrars was convened – the entry criteria included having completed six months with me and having exceptional banter. The quality of these individuals is self-evident by their achievements.

It is such a pleasure to work with individuals of this calibre a form career-long relationships that benefit all our patients, past present and future.
