How breast augmentation works
Breast augmentation involves making an incision in the breast and inserting a breast implant under the breast tissue. There are 3 positions that Mr Gore uses for breast implants: over the pectoral muscle (subglandular or subfascial), under the pectoral muscle (submuscular) or biplanar placement, which is where the surgeon creates a pocket with the top of the implant placed under the muscle and the bottom of the implant is under the breast tissue. Biplanar breast augmentation has particular advantages in slim patients to maintain a natural upper breast shape but minimise the degree of implant movement upon pectoral muscle contraction.
Each of these positions can be used to give a different effect. Sinclair Gore will discuss your aesthetic goals with you and help you find the right breast implant position to meet them. He will also help guide you through the entire process, so that you get the outcome youโve always wanted.

My first meeting with Mr Gore was by zoom but I liked him immediately, and when I met him in person I felt reassured by his professionalism, understanding and kindness. Breast Augmentation FAQs
There are 2 main types of breast implants: silicone implants and saline implants. Silicone implants are made entirely from silicone, while saline implants have a silicone outer shell and are filled with salt water. Sinclair Gore uses specialist silicone breast implants, which can help with deflated breasts and which may reduce the need for a breast lift by enhancing your breast shape as well as size.
High-quality breast implants, like the ones used by Sinclair Gore, can last for over 20 years. Factors such as your health, pregnancy, weight change and aesthetic goals can lead to earlier removal or exchange of your breast implants.
A breast augmentation involves increasing the size, volume and shape of the breast, usually using breast implants. A breast lift or mastopexy is a procedure that doesnโt involve implants. Instead, your surgeon will make the most of your existing breast tissue to lift and tighten the breast. Mr Gore uses specialist reconstructive techniques to reposition sections of the breast tissue itself as well as tightening the breast skin envelope – this is much more comprehensive than mere skin operations. Breast lifts can be carried out at the same time as breast augmentation for some patients, otherwise known as mastopexy-augmentation.

Initial Consultation
During the initial consultation, Sinclair Gore will discuss your goals and what you want to achieve from your breast augmentation. He will use biodimensional measurement techniques and sizing equipment to help you select the right size breast implants to help you get the right look for you. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have prior to the operation.
Treatment
Breast augmentation surgery alone typically takes about an hour in Mr Goreโs hands, or longer if you choose to have other procedures carried out simultaneously. Sinclair Gore will combine his knowledge of your aesthetic goals with his experience carrying out breast enlargements to create the right look for your bust.
Aftercare
Following your breast augmentation, you might be planned to leave that day, or Sinclair Gore may organise that you remain in hospital overnight to monitor your progress. He will send you home when he is sure that there are no complications following the treatment, and provide you with guidance on how to ensure optimal recovery. He will invite you to follow-up consultations with him to review your healing.
